Rules & Conditions

Foreign hunters must arrive with three documents valid for the entire period of the hunt:

• Hunting licence issued by the authorities in your home country.
• International accident insurance covering injuries while hunting in Romania. Our company carries no liability for accidents involving the hunter or accompanying party during the trip.
• Gun permit covering each firearm you bring and your length of stay.

By signing the booking form you confirm that every member of the party has read and accepts the rules below, the trophy-price table for the relevant species, and the package price.

Booking deposit. To confirm a hunt date we need a 30% deposit against the estimated total, paid into our account at least 40 days before the hunt start. We respond to your booking enquiry as soon as possible and confirm availability of the relevant beats and trophies.

Cancellation. Cancellations made with at least 30 days' notice carry no forfeit. For cancellations or postponements made later, the deposit is not refunded, but it can be transferred to a different hunt in the same or the following season.

Force majeure. Storm, fog, flood, and other unavoidable events release both parties from the booking obligations without forfeit. The signatory on the booking form is the responsible party for the whole group registered on it.

We file the temporary import permit for hunters bringing firearms and ammunition. Send us the rifle paperwork and your travel dates at least 15 days before arrival and we handle the rest.

Per-hunter limit. Up to two rifles per hunter, and up to fifty cartridges (bullet or shot) per rifle. Firearms only. Romanian law does not recognise bowhunting — crossbows and bows are not lawful hunting means, so leave them at home.

Hunting dogs. Dogs may be brought into Romania with a sanitary-veterinary certificate issued no more than ten days before crossing. The rabies immunisation must be at least one month old and no more than twelve months old at the time of entry.

Brown bear and Eurasian lynx are strictly protected under Annex IV of the EU Habitats Directive; the wolf moved to Annex V in July 2025, but Romania has not loosened its own rules — under Romanian law the hunting of all three remains prohibited. It is only possible when Romania issues a derogation quota — under Article 16 of the directive for bear and lynx, and under national law for the wolf — typically for population management or documented livestock-damage zones. Quotas are small, allocated case by case, and not guaranteed in any given season.

Provisional booking. For these three species we accept enquiries year-round but mark the booking provisional until the seasonal derogation is published and we are allocated a slot. No deposit is taken while the booking is provisional. If the quota does not materialise, the booking rolls to the next season or is cancelled with no charge.

CITES paperwork. Every trophy of these three species leaves Romania with a CITES export licence we file on your behalf. Annex A (lynx and wolf) and Annex B (bear) classifications apply different scrutiny levels — we will brief you on the timeline when the slot is confirmed. Your home-country import licence is your responsibility; for EU clients re-entering the EU, the export licence alone is usually sufficient.

Trophy fees. Quoted on request because they scale with CIC score, the specific derogation classification, and the Ministry's annual quota order. The package price covers the hunt, lodge, and meals; the trophy fee is always billed separately from the species' trophy-price table (or quoted on request when derogation pricing is uncertain) and is settled with the rest of the balance on the day of the hunt.

Guides on the ground. Every hunting beat is attended by qualified forestry personnel assigned by the regional forest authority. Trophy preparation, packing, and the sanitary-veterinary paperwork are handled by our specialised staff — you do not deal with the Ministry directly.

Measurement and evaluation. Trophies are measured and CIC-scored by a district committee of authorised specialists, in the hunter's presence. Each hunt closes with a written protocol listing the game taken, trophy size, wounded animals, missed shots, and the organisation charge. You sign the protocol — your signature confirms you accept the figures.

Final payment. The 30% deposit is deducted from the final invoice. Balance is settled in cash at the end of the hunt, after the trophy evaluation.

Disputes. Any claims must be raised on the spot, in the hunting area, where they will be conciliated and resolved. Unresolved trophy disputes are referred to the National Committee for Evaluating Hunted Trophies, whose decision is final. Trophies leave Romania only with the provenance and transport documents we issue, and after all charges are settled.
