ABOUT THE HUNT
What to expect
Fox (Vulpes vulpes) is unrestricted in Romania. We hunt it through the winter from blinds at field edges, with mouse-call and prey-distress calling done by the guide. Snow days are gold — tracks and visibility flip the technical edge to the hunter.
Days are short and concentrated: an hour of glassing the field before dawn, two or three setups through the morning, return for breakfast, repeat at last light. A productive 2-day hunt yields three to five shot opportunities; a 3-day yields five to eight.
This pairs cleanly with a roe deer or fallow deer hunt — same lodge, same region, same guide, twice the time in the field.
Good to know
Oradea, Cluj, or Timișoara — whichever is closest to your hunting zone. Airport transfer arranged on request (not included in the package).
Hotel, guesthouse, or hunting cabin — depending on your hunting zone.
Common Romanian choices: .222 or .223 with quality scope. Fox is one of the three species for which a thermal or night-vision sight can be authorised, and only under a Ministry of Environment derogation — we confirm it for your dates before you travel.
Rifles, shotguns, and ammunition can be rented on site — bring a valid hunting permit from your home country and we'll sort the rest at booking.
Quiet warm clothing, gloves, electronic predator calls (we supply or bring your own).

- Firearms only — crossbows, bows, traps and snares are not lawful hunting means in Romania.
- Thermal and night-vision sights are possible for this species only under a Ministry of Environment derogation, which we confirm for your dates.
