ABOUT THE SHOOT
What to expect
Starling flocks raid ripening fruit through autumn — a real agricultural pest in the Transylvanian wine country. We run pest-control wing-shooting hunts in cooperation with local vintners and orchard operators; the hunt is genuinely useful crop protection rather than nominal sport.
The format is flock pass-shooting from setup positions at the vineyard / orchard edges. Birds work in tight flocks of dozens to hundreds; you swing through the flock and take birds at the leading edge. Bags scale with team size.
This is the most affordable wing-shoot on our calendar (per-piece fee €5) and a real high-volume reflex workout. Pairs cleanly with our song thrush shoot — same lodge, opposite shooting rhythm.
Good to know
Oradea, Cluj, or Timișoara — whichever is closest to your hunting zone. Airport transfer arranged on request (not included in the package).
Hotel, guesthouse, or hunting cabin — depending on your hunting zone.
Common choice: 12 or 20-ga, #7.5 or #8 shot.
Rifles, shotguns, and ammunition can be rented on site — bring a valid hunting permit from your home country and we'll sort the rest at booking.
Warm layers, hearing protection (it's a volume hunt), gloves, plenty of ammunition.

- Firearms only — crossbows, bows, traps and snares are not lawful hunting means in Romania.
- Thermal and night-vision sights are not permitted for this species.
- Daily bag limit: 50 birds per hunter.
Reference dates only. The Romanian Ministry of Environment's annual hunting order is authoritative; quotas for derogation species (bear, wolf, lynx) shift independently. We confirm the operative rules at booking.
