ABOUT THE SHOOT
What to expect
Common quail migrates through Romania late summer to early autumn — the warm-weather book-end of the wing-shoot calendar. Birds concentrate in harvested cereal stubble, lucerne, and weedy field margins to feed and rest before pushing onward to North Africa.
The hunt is straightforward walked-up shooting with English pointers or German wirehairs working close ahead of the line. The August–September migration peak is the prime window; outside it the resident population sustains lower numbers.
Good entry-level wing-shoot package — quail are forgiving birds (close flushes, slow rising flight) and the August timing suits hunters looking to break up the closed-season summer.
Good to know
Oradea, Cluj, or Timișoara — whichever is closest to your hunting zone. Airport transfer arranged on request (not included in the package).
Hotel, guesthouse, or hunting cabin — depending on your hunting zone.
Common choice: 20 or 28-ga, open chokes (skeet / improved-cyl), #7.5 or #8 shot.
Rifles, shotguns, and ammunition can be rented on site — bring a valid hunting permit from your home country and we'll sort the rest at booking.

- Firearms only — crossbows, bows, traps and snares are not lawful hunting means in Romania.
- Thermal and night-vision sights are not permitted for this species.
- Daily bag limit: 25 birds per hunter.
Reference dates only. The Romanian Ministry of Environment's annual hunting order is authoritative; quotas for derogation species (bear, wolf, lynx) shift independently. We confirm the operative rules at booking.
