ABOUT THE SHOOT
What to expect
The same Transylvanian grounds that host the pheasant programme run an excellent wild-rabbit population in the orchards, hedge lines, and rough cover above the valley floor. Two guns to four, English pointers and Drahthaars working ahead of the gun line.
Mornings are walked-up over the hedge runs and rough ground; afternoons we organise two or three short driven beats through tighter brush where dogs flush at close range. Lunch is the same field service as the pheasant days — soup, smoked sausage, polenta, hot wine.
This is the entry-level shoot in our small-game programme — cheaper, less formal, and a great pair with a pheasant day if you want a mixed-bag long weekend.
Good to know
Oradea, Cluj, or Timișoara — whichever is closest to your hunting zone. Airport transfer arranged on request (not included in the package).
Hotel, guesthouse, or hunting cabin — depending on your hunting zone.
Common choice: 12 or 20-ga, modified-to-full chokes, #5–#7 shot.
Rifles, shotguns, and ammunition can be rented on site — bring a valid hunting permit from your home country and we'll sort the rest at booking.
Sturdy boots for orchard ground, briar-resistant trousers, gaiters, sun protection.
Hunters wanting rough walked-up sport, dog work, lower cost than the driven days — pairs cleanly with pheasant.

- Firearms only — crossbows, bows, traps and snares are not lawful hunting means in Romania.
- Thermal and night-vision sights are not permitted for this species.
- No hunting at feeders, or between sunset and sunrise.
Reference dates only. The Romanian Ministry of Environment's annual hunting order is authoritative; quotas for derogation species (bear, wolf, lynx) shift independently. We confirm the operative rules at booking.
