ABOUT THE SHOOT
What to expect
Snipe concentrate in the soft, wet margins of the lower Danube floodplain — wet meadows, drainage ditches, the muddy edges of the lake systems. The autumn migration packs birds into these zones from October through December.
The hunt is walked-up: you cross the soft ground with a guide and a flushing dog (cocker spaniel or springer), birds flush close, jink twice in the classic snipe pattern, and you have under a second for the shot. Forgiving on missed shots; this is everyone's most-missed wing-shoot target.
Pairs well with our duck shoot — same region, same lodge, can swap one day for snipe walking.
Good to know
Oradea, Cluj, or Timișoara — whichever is closest to your hunting zone. Airport transfer arranged on request (not included in the package).
Hotel, guesthouse, or hunting cabin — depending on your hunting zone.
Common choice: 20 or 28-ga for close-flush snap shots; #8 or #9 non-toxic (steel) shot in / near wetlands per EU REACH — we confirm operating-zone rules at booking.
Rifles, shotguns, and ammunition can be rented on site — bring a valid hunting permit from your home country and we'll sort the rest at booking.
Waders or knee-high rubber boots, gaiters, waterproof field jacket. You'll get muddy — embrace it.
Wing-shooters who want Europe's hardest single reflex shot — misses are normal, dog work is the joy.

- Firearms only — crossbows, bows, traps and snares are not lawful hunting means in Romania.
- Thermal and night-vision sights are not permitted for this species.
- Daily bag limit: 15 birds per hunter.
Reference dates only. The Romanian Ministry of Environment's annual hunting order is authoritative; quotas for derogation species (bear, wolf, lynx) shift independently. We confirm the operative rules at booking.
