What to expect

Roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) is Romania’s most accessible big-game hunt. Animals are spread evenly through every wooded valley below 1,000 metres; the stalk is short, the climb is manageable, and the season runs from 1 May to 1 September.

This is the package we recommend if it’s your first time in Romania: three nights, two early mornings, two afternoon stalks, lodge cooking, and a small group of like-minded clients you’ll likely overlap with at the dinner table.

Trophy quality is matched to your preference — from representative bucks to gold-medal heads, and even the rare abnormal heads some collectors specifically seek.

Oradea, Cluj, or Timișoara — whichever is closest to your hunting zone. Airport transfer arranged on request (not included in the package).

Hotel, guesthouse, or hunting cabin — depending on your hunting zone.

Rifle

Common Romanian choices: .243 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor, .270. 80–150 m oak-forest shots; quiet bolt, light scope is fine. Suppressors are forbidden in Romania.

Rental

Rifles, shotguns, and ammunition can be rented on site — bring a valid hunting permit from your home country and we’ll sort the rest at booking.

Clothing

Quiet outer layer (no shell crinkle), broken-in stalking boots, shooting sticks recommended.

Rules that bind this hunt
  • Firearms only — bows and crossbows are not lawful hunting means in Romania.
  • Thermal and night-vision sights are not permitted for this species.
  • This species may not be hunted at feeders, at salt licks, in drives, or with driving dogs.

Reference dates only. The Romanian Ministry of Environment's annual hunting order is authoritative; quotas for derogation species (bear, wolf, lynx) shift independently. We confirm the operative rules at booking.

A 30% deposit confirms the date, paid at least 40 days before the hunt. Cancellations with at least 30 days' notice carry no forfeit.
