ABOUT THE HUNT
What to expect
Wild boar is the workhorse of Romanian hunting — abundant, social, and surprisingly fast through dense cover. We hunt it in two formats: from the high seat, available all year round for one to five hunters, and driven from 1 October to 31 December.
Driven days run two or three drives per day across hunting grounds of 5,000 to 20,000 hectares, with teams of ten to thirty hunters depending on the zone. You shoot from a fixed stand chosen by the guide; beaters and dogs move the animals through. The bigger trophies move in late autumn after the first frost — pack warm.
Good to know
Oradea, Cluj, or Timișoara — whichever is closest to your hunting zone. Airport transfer arranged on request (not included in the package).
Hotel, guesthouse, or hunting cabin — depending on your hunting zone.
For driven boar we recommend 9.3×62 or 8×57 JRS with a holographic or red-dot sight — shooting with both eyes open.
Rifles, shotguns, and ammunition can be rented on site — bring a valid hunting permit from your home country and we'll sort the rest at booking.
Cold-weather boots, gaiters, blaze-orange vest (we provide spares), warm gloves, thermos. Late-autumn frost is normal.

- Firearms only — crossbows, bows, traps and snares are not lawful hunting means in Romania.
- Thermal and night-vision sights are possible for this species only under a Ministry of Environment derogation, which we confirm for your dates.
Reference dates only. The Romanian Ministry of Environment's annual hunting order is authoritative; quotas for derogation species (bear, wolf, lynx) shift independently. We confirm the operative rules at booking.
