ABOUT THE HUNT
What to expect
Fallow deer (Dama dama) were reintroduced to Romanian estate land in the 19th century and have prospered. We work two privately managed estates in the Transylvanian lowlands where decades of habitat work produce reliable CIC-silver bucks and an occasional gold.
The hunt is conducted on foot from late afternoon to last light, with morning sessions optional. Stand-hunting from high seats is available if knees prefer it. The October rut is the prime window — bucks call from open clearings and follow the does into shooting range.
This is a sensible second hunt for clients combining wild boar or red deer with a higher-density species — most international hunters take their fallow buck inside 36 hours.
Good to know
Oradea, Cluj, or Timișoara — whichever is closest to your hunting zone. Airport transfer arranged on request (not included in the package).
Hotel, guesthouse, or hunting cabin — depending on your hunting zone.
Common Romanian choices: .270 Win, .30-06 for 100–200 m shots through mixed open-and-treed terrain. High-seat or walked-up.
Rifles, shotguns, and ammunition can be rented on site — bring a valid hunting permit from your home country and we'll sort the rest at booking.
Standard stalking kit — lighter than mountain hunts. Layered fleece, sturdy boots, binoculars.

- Thermal and night-vision sights are not permitted for this species.
